Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. - 1 Corinthians 12:12
A long-held vision and prayer has been to see God move in our city and bless the Hispanic and Latino community with a Christ-centered educational option rooted in the Word of God. Mike Alameda joined a local pastor to pray that this vision would become a reality. In 2021, God graciously answered that prayer: Pusch Ridge Christian Academy South Campus opened its doors to families on the south side of Tucson.
The South Campus holds the unique distinction of being a Dual Language Immersion school, equipping students to become fluent in both Spanish and English. Its mission is to provide students with a classical, Christian education within a covenantal community. Corazón has been involved from the beginning through faithful prayer, participating in the construction of the campus, informing families about this opportunity, leading chapel services, and offering workshops and resources to parents.
It has been a joy to watch this school grow in just a few short years. I constantly meet Christian parents across Tucson who share that their children are enrolled at PRCA South. Seeing moms and dads trust God in pursuit of a Christian education for their kids fills us with encouragement and hope. One of my greatest privileges is to serve as a guest speaker for their weekly chapel, teaching God’s Word to students, parents, and teachers. Mike and Claire Alameda also lead cross-cultural marriage workshops, and Claire has ministers to the mothers in the school community.
As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited to continue partnering with PRCA South to bless and empower the Hispanic and Latino community for generations to come. We pray with anticipation as the school expands, adding new grades each year until it becomes a full kindergarten through graduation campus offering Christ-centered education.
This movement of God reminds me of His faithfulness. God uses His people for His purposes and His glory. It is a beautiful picture of the different cultures, languages, denominations, and backgrounds, united in the body of Christ. Together, we worship and serve the same God. As the children at the school say, “Por Cristo y Su Reino.” For Christ and His Kingdom.
