Every day is an opportunity to serve the Lord, not just in Tucson, but throughout the country. Last month, I was privileged with one such opportunity. I was blessed to share our cross-cultural training with a bilingual church plant in Austin, TX. Valle Church was established in October 2023. I met Pastor DeLuna at the Corazón Ministries Until He Returns Mission conference in October 2024. He applied for a global missions trip grant and expressed his heart for outreach in his community and for world missions. He was one of two pastors awarded a grant. In July of this year he traveled, along with Enrique Garcia, to Malaysia.
Most of the people who attended the cross-cultural training were young and vibrant with a heart for evangelism. They were curious and wanted to grow in their understanding about how to share the Gospel among their Hispanic and Latino neighbors. The church is creating a culture of growth and equipping for missions. Their ministry is already bearing fruit. Valle Church is part of a larger church planting network. While in Austin, I was invited to attend a micro church planting conference where I met several other pastors engaged in reaching their city for Christ. I was encouraged by the heart and the passion of the Network. And I am encouraged by what Pastor DeLuna shared about our time together:
“The cross cultural training that our church participated in with Corazón Ministries was incredible for our team! It really helped deepen our understanding of the Latino community that we aim to reach and gave us practical ministry tools. I thought Mike did an excellent job at facilitating conversations for our team. It allowed for those least familiar with the Latino community to ask questions and share thoughts as well as for those who are from the Latino community to be able to share their experiences and stories. Overall, our team left really inspired and felt better prepared for the mission that the Lord has called our church to.”
As we, at Corazón come alongside the church to share our experience to reach, equip, and send Hispanics and Latinos into the mission field, we are excited to be a small part of building the Kingdom of Christ.
We look forward to the next opportunity!
