A Summer of Growth

This summer, I had the opportunity to lead a Bible study for high school girls called Comparison Girls for Teens. Christie Baray led a study for middle school girls called, Growing in God’s Garden, at the same time. The two studies shared a common heartbeat: helping girls discover who God is and who they are in Him.
We explored how easily we fall into the habit of comparing ourselves to others in Comparison Girls. Whether it was appearance, abilities, friendships, or even spiritual maturity, the study challenged girls to recognize how comparison pulled us away from the life God called us to live. The young ladies were pointed to the truth of their identity in Christ.
Growing in God’s Garden gave middle school girls a hands-on way to engage with their faith. Christie guided the group through various gardens around Tucson and used nature as a living example of how God cultivated growth in their hearts. The girls reflected on what it meant to be rooted in God’s Word and to trust Him through every season.
The studies offered a meaningful space for the girls to explore Scripture, build community, and reflect on their faith. I was encouraged to see them ask thoughtful questions and participate with openness and curiosity. My prayer is that the seeds of faith planted this summer will continue to grow. Please pray that the truths they encountered will stay with them and continue to shape how they see themselves and God today and tomorrow.
